Tom Starkweather was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he began photographing for his hometown newspaper while in high school. Starkweather is interested in photographing the vanishing, commonplace technologies and singular moments he encounters in New York City. He has also produced a podcast on photography books, and composed soundtracks for two feature films. See more of his work here.
