So. Remember the Bacon Explosion™? The postmodern pork product involving bacon-wrapped sausage and bacon bits—the loglike monstrosity that, depending on your particular taste, was a delicious, Turducken-esque treat, a shameful symbol of American excess, or an omen of impending apocalypse? The one that, last month, via blog pickup and a Times write-up, became a widespread Internet meme?
Yes. Well. The Explosion™’s creators have apparently inked a book deal based on their creation all the publicity. A cookbook, natch, to be released in 2010 and to be entitled, apparently, Barbecue Makes Everything Better.
The porktastic little kicker? The book, apparently, will NOT include the Bacon Explosion™.
