Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Chair of the Joint Economic Committee, is currently convening a hearing: “The Future of Newspapers: The Impact on the Economy and Democracy.” The stated goal: to examine the “contraction in the newspaper industry, the economic impact of the changing media landscape, as well as the future of the industry at large.”
Witnesses include the PEJ’s Tom Rosenstiel and Princeton’s Paul Starr.
You can watch a live feed of the hearing here; I’ll be Twittering the spicy bits here.
