All this twalk about Twitter has left me feeling twoverwhelmed. Two tweeks ago, the NYC Twestival (attended by CJR staff writer Megan Garber) only seemed to encourage a twavalanche of tweets about the pseudo-Tweetup and the future of communications. Now, as the twevolution continues, Valleywag has published this attack on the emerging Twitter lexicon, including newly coined words such as “twirting” and “twisticuffs.”
Linguists, take cover: Twitter may be poised to turn our societal affections for prefixes (iPod, iPhone) into a twabbling, twuttering speech impediment. At least, that’s what we sound like here in the twoffice.
