Politico’s Ben Smith passes on this Onion News Network clip, where a panel of Onion-esque experts debate whether or not prosecutions looking into the Bush administration’s authorization of a minotaur maze in the interrogation of detainees will “tie the hands and hooves” of our intelligence agencies going foward.
Funny stuff. Smith’s post on the video notes that, in an apparent first, the Onion has included a Politico reporter in its mock news cast. Of course, as Smith is quick to say, the reporter here is fictional.
But that’s easy enough to tell: note how he forthrightly refers to minotaur abuse as torture—not as an “enhanced mythological obstacle interrogation technique.”
A real Politico reporter would never be able to get away with that!
